Veolia Unifies Hong Kong Energy Operations to Accelerate Decarbonization

Veolia, a global leader in ecological transformation announces the full integration of Southa Holdings and Hong Kong District Cooling under the single Veolia brand

Effective immediately, this strategic unification streamlines the company's energy services, creating a one-stop powerhouse dedicated to supporting Hong Kong’s transition to carbon neutrality.

Since Veolia acquired Southa Holdings in 2019, the company has evolved from a building works contractor to a comprehensive building energy services provider. Building on a track record that includes 4 Long Term Energy Performance Contracts and more than 30 Operation & Maintenance Contracts in various strategic sectors in Hong Kong - for example, in healthcare, shopping centers, and office buildings. The newly integrated Energy Services business line will expand Veolia's focus on smart energy management systems to help clients reduce consumption and carbon emissions in their buildings.

Simultaneously, Veolia’s district cooling operations will continue to deliver expert solutions to mission-critical facilities, particularly for District Cooling Systems (DCS) and Data Centers. In these environments, exceptional reliability (99.99%+), stringent safety standards, and rigorous operational excellence are essential. The team currently operates key infrastructures, including Hong Kong's first DCS in Kai Tak and the DCS at the M+ Museum.

Laurent Pelletier, CEO of Veolia in Hong Kong and Macau said:

This rebranding marks a decisive step in our Green Up 2024–2027 strategic plan, transforming our integrated offer into a powerful booster for our clients' sustainability journeys. By unifying these businesses, we are accelerating the deployment of solutions that support Hong Kong's transition to net zero.
